We are honored to offer you this special wine, in tribute to Saralee Kunde, who left us in 2014. Saralee was an unparalleled leader and heroine in Sonoma County agriculture, and a personal inspiration. Catie's Corner is named for her daughter. This vineyard was the first planting in the Russian River, made possible by Saralee's commitment to varietal diversity.
The Grenache blanc always undergoes 3+ years of bottling aging, until its complex aromatics, salinity and minerality come fully together like a symphony.
Our 7th release of Vermentino (also known as Rolle in Southern France.) This 8 barrel, 200 case lot was fermented and aged in 50% stainless steel, and 50% neutral barrel for 6 months. Fresh and gulpable, mouthwatering acidity, and weighty texture that belies its low 11.5% alcohol. Organically farmed, no additions save a small amount of sulfur.
A bright tongue tingling sparkling treat! This small 25 case lot of Grenache Blanc is co-fermented with Wickson Apples from our neighbors at Tilted Shed Ciderworks. Aged in neutral barrel for 10 months, this sparkling co-ferment is a perfect entry into fall with notes of lemon zest, apricot and honeysuckle. After our first vintage, we promised to ourselves we'd never hand bottle again, but glad we made an exception for this beauty.
A unique wine from an obscure grey skinned grape, originally from the Jura. The grapes are the only planting in CA, from a 40 year old vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Fermented with native yeast on the skins for five days to extract color, flavor and texture, then aged in neutral barrels for 8 months. Similar to the 2017 thru 2020 releases, this vintage is destemmed, allowing a fresh and vibrant expression.
We are pleased to introduce our first, 1 barrel lot (25 cases) of Grenache Gris from our Estate Farm, the Daenen Block. Grenache Gris is the rare grey skinned relative of Grenache. Our vineyard is 100% hand farmed by us with no tractors or tilling, planted in a rare, dense 3 feet x 3 feet spacing. Our 3rd grey skin variety, fermented on the skins for 5 days for a lighter style orange wine, savory and approachable. The Grenache Gris has a bit more structure and soft tannins the the Trousseau Gris, and a darker orange color.
Eight years in the making! We planted our Grenache vineyard in 2011, back when folks thought we were crazy for doing so. Named for Austin and Arya, our two Aussie Shepherds who frolic here everyday, our Grenache is planted in narrow 3' x 3' rows, farmed organically and hand-tended by us. Native yeast fermented, 16 months in neutral barrel, minimal sulfur.
Our 5th vintage of our wildly popular Pinot Meunier! This variety is rarely found as a still wine, and often abused when it is. It’s a delicate wine that doesn't respond well to heavy oak, thus perfectly suited for our light hand.
From the oldest planting in the Russian River, Pinot Meunier is very rare as a still wine. Our light touch produces an elegant, subtly layered, light bodied, complex and savory wine.
The goat logo pays tribute to finding this vineyard when getting our two goats. 100 cases made.
The uncommon blend of Syrah & Mourvedre quickly became a Two Shepherds perennial favorite. We are pleased to present our 2017 vintage, a blend of 50% Syrah from the Russian Reiver Valley and 50% Mourvedre from Contra Costa. It's one of our main tenants that we only release wine when we believe it shines... this one took all this time and we think it was worth the wait. Only 2 barrels made.
