For 9 years we have been hoarding cases of the wines we make each year. It seemed a great idea, but we have frankly completely run out of space, and its time to share these wines.
As part of our ongoing expansion we are also having to invest in a new wine press - its simply no longer feasible to process 60+ tons in a 1 ton press - so we are investing in a new 6 ton press, that will carry us through our next years of growth.
To make space and raise some capital, we are offering a myriad of our small lots wines from 2012-2015 at special 20-50% discounts. Some of the wines there are 2 cases or less!
We have tasted ALL wines to make sure they meet our high standard. As our regular fans know, our wines age very well, especially our whites.

Picked early expressly for rosé at 20 Brix to ensure its lively nature, this Rosé offers a vibrant expression of Carignan. This 3 barrel, 75 case lot of rosé comes from a 45 year old, head trained, dry farmed, organically certified vineyard in Hopland, Mendocino. We are very excited to be able to lease half of this vineyard, working closely with the 2nd generation grower. Fermented with native yeast, aged in 50% stainless steel, 50% neutral barrel. A fresh, vibrant wine that can be enjoyed all year long.
This special wine was joint project by William and Steve Washuta, sommelier, and was nicknamed 'Ha Makom' which means
'the place.' during their first harvest together in 2010.
The grapes were hand harvested at 22 brix, left on the skins for 24 hours, then fermented and aged in neutral French
barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Enjoy the savory, fleshy texture and mouth watering acidity, will pair well with summer fare.
Our original notes said "The 2012 is even leaner and brighter, and is undergoing additional bottle aging before release. Think essence of Myer lemon." Because we thought it was too bright (Viognier???), we held it.
Now, after seven years bottle aging, the wine is showing beautifully.
Blended from 50% Roussanne, 35% Marsanne, 10% Viognier, and 5% Grenache Blanc. (The ONLY Roussanne and Marsanne vineyard in the Russian River.)
Fermented and aged in neutral oak, on the lees. This imparts no oak qualities, but softens the wine and enhances its texture and mouth feel, and complexity. We love this incredibly balanced, complex white. It is impeccable alone, a symphony when paired with food.

Our latest release of our flagship white Rhone blend. Keeping with tradition, the primary variety is Roussanne (50%) blended with 25% Marsanne, 13% Viognier, 6% Grenache Blanc, 6% Grenache Gris.
The Roussanne, Marsanne, and Viognier, are from the esteemed Saralee's Vineyard in Russian River Valley. The Roussanne and Marsanne are tiny blocks there, and the only plantings in the entire Russian River AVA.
The 2013 might be our best Pastoral Blanc yet, or at least on par with the stunning 2011, though quite different. This year's complex blend is only 12.9% alcohol (difficult to achieve in a balanced Roussanne) and is bright and vibrant, yet aromatic and complex.
This is our annual wine released in time for dungeness crab season on the west coast, and also pairs beautifully with lobster, scallops and similar fare.

Our first Marsanne|Roussanne blend from the granitic soils of El Dorado Textural and savory, from 6 hours skin contact, bottle aged for 2.5 years before release to ensure ideal time for enjoyment.
Slightly turbid straw color, aromas of Anjou pear, honey dew melon, and a hint of honeysuckle. On the palate enjoy flavors of yellow apple, melon, with a savory finish.
Highly recommended to pair with food, seafood, shell fish, Asian cuisine and spicy food dishes.

(Please note, due to skin contact and late racking this wine can be a bit turbid (cloudy.) While many of our Flock like that, if you store the bottle cork up a day before serving, that can mimimize the cloudiness from sediment.)
Two Shepherds is pleased to offer our first, very small bottling of 100% Roussanne, from the esteemed Saralee's Vineyard. This block is noteworthy both for its foggy cool climate, and being the ONLY planting of Roussanne (6 rows) in the entire Russian River Valley AVA.
Typically all of the Roussanne goes into our flagship Pastoral Blanc blend. 2013 was the first year we kept aside one barrel (25 cases) to showcase the wonderful nature of cool climate, Northern Rhone like Roussanne.
With white peach, marizipan and honeyed notes, this silky textured wine sings with richer foods like crab, creamy pasta, and scallops. Or just gulp it from a Burgundy glass.
From the esteemed Saralee's Vineyard, Russian River planting, this small less than 1 acre planting of Roussanne is the only one in the entire AVA. The cool climate creates a bright expression of Roussanne, while keeping its richer texture.

The 2015 vintage was a shift in style and closer to an “orange” wine. 100% whole cluster, foot tread, adding more complexity, tannin, and a deeper orange color. Five days of skin skin contact before pressing to barrel.
